Thinles and her husband, Stanba, couldn't be more proud. They've just completed construction of the first-ever ventilated root cellar in Ladakh. And their daughter Lhamo giggles that she now has a place to banish her papa to if he makes her do too much homework.

Nicole Lundstead from the Canadian High Commission and CanAssist got the inaugural tour. What a difference it will make if we can replicate these affordable storage rooms across Ladakh, where up to 35% of each year's crop is lost to poor winter storage.

Thanks CanAssist!
